Rise and shine. The sirens that filled the streets on Friday have died down, allowing you to spend the morning peacefully despite the news. It isn't until 11 AM that an alarm goes off on everyone's phone, citing a reminder for the trial taking place at the courthouse at noon. It turns off soon, but pops back up every ten minutes to ensure that you don't forget.

Shortly before 12 PM, all heroes feel a compulsion to head to the courthouse, where the staff direct you to one of the courtrooms reserved for the day's events. Attendance is mandatory, it seems, and once everyone has arrived, the doors close and lock behind them.

Yesterday's investigation was only the beginning. The real work begins now.

Welcome to your week one trial! Over the next nine hours, characters will have the chance to investigate, and theorize about the murders, as well as examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations with NPC permission. As you gather evidence and discuss, we encourage you to revisit the investigation post to refamiliarize yourselves with the events of Friday morning.

There will be a mod-tag break between 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST to 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

To vote for a culprit, head over to the voting page! Voting is mandatory in this game, so please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST.

okay. well. here's temenos, pulling on a pair of disposable gloves and coming to check out vane's body as he pulls back the sheet. right down to business.

what's the general state of the body upon first look? ]

[ general state is that even though vane is wearing his usual armor, he is bloody. there's blood all over his torso. rip. ]

[ ok. is there an immediately obvious source of blood before i dive in to going piece by piece?

what's the state of his armor? is anything dinged/damaged in particular? tem's helped him remove it basically every strip check so he would notice if there was anything particularly new. ]

[ obvious sources appear to be his neck and stomach.

armor is undamaged, beyond the usual wear and tear you'd expect from armor. ]

[ alrighty. so, starting from the head and neck then - he'll check over his head for any bumps or bruises, first, then check vane's eyes, inside of his mouth, and move his head from side to side if he can, carefully looking for any signs of stress, discoloration, or strangeness. otherwise, let's look at the neck.

what sort of injury is here? ]

[ there's a bump on the right side of vane's head. there is some blood in his hair and behind his ears.

his eyes look normal. inside the mouth, he's missing a tooth. no obvious discolorations or anything weird.

as for the neck, it's a slash wound across the throat! the blood really went everywhere, huh? it's all down the front of his shirt. looks like that's where the blood in his hair might've come from, too. ]

[wanders over here. nimona's still smoking here and there sorry she's trying to not let it get in the way. at least she doesn't have 12 eyes this time. she adjusts ace's hat and gets a look at danny.

what's the general overview? he's missing an arm, anything else that sticks out?]

[I read "Nimona's still smoking" and for a moment thought she had a cigarette or something.

At a general overview, there's two things immediately sticking out. One, he's wearing a different outfit. He's got this on (with red and black striping on the sleeves) today.

Second, since you mentioned missing arms, she will indeed see that he is missing his left arm.]

[yeah she picked up a bad habit by watching reigen :\ no it's like black smoke is coming off her arms and from her mouth sometimes. it's fine.

okay, well she'll check his face/head first. anything wrong with his eyes, his nose? anything in his mouth]

[On top of his head is a kitty ears headband. But his eyes are puffy and there's tear tracks down his face. His nose and mouth look normal.]

[UGH NOT THE CRYING. the smoke gets. worse.

anything in his hair? she runs her fingers through it. around his ears? in his ears? she takes the kitty ear headband off and looks it over to see if it has anything on it or hidden in it.]

[can i come back here to look at danny's severed arm again, it's like. it's flipping someone off, right? he's not holding anything in this hand or magically making a symbol to indicate four killed him right]

[ Let's get down to business.

Axel has steeled himself just fine for this, so...

How's the body looking as it is? Immediate noticeable injuries? Strange things that can be viewed from the frontal position from potential exposed skin (face, etc.) and on clothing? Expression if that is relevant as well? ]

[ aight. forgive any typoes i make because my hand is wrapped, but let's do this.

at first glance, axel will see the small, golden dragon wings that ponta's had all week. as far as injuries go, there's blood on one leg and damage to ponta's head. ]

[ Alrighty then.

Let's check the leg first. What kind of damage is it?

Same for the head. Assuming it's at the front? If it's on the back or on the sides, can he move him slightly to get a better look? ]

[ it's a little hard to tell. it looks messy, but the damage does go through ponta's clothing and into the thigh. it's on the front left thigh.

for his head, the damage is on the temple. don't worry about which side. it looks like his temple got caved in? oof. there's also a bruise on his forehead. ]

[ ...Ouch.

Okay. He will take off the pants so he can get a better look at the injury. Can he see what's going on there a bit better?

Also how big is the bruise on the forehead? ]

[ sighs heavily and comes to check vane, danny, and ponta's mouths/breaths real quick with a sniff test. ]
