Rise and shine. The sirens that filled the streets on Friday have died down, allowing you to spend the morning peacefully despite the news. It isn't until 11 AM that an alarm goes off on everyone's phone, citing a reminder for the trial taking place at the courthouse at noon. It turns off soon, but pops back up every ten minutes to ensure that you don't forget.

Shortly before 12 PM, all heroes feel a compulsion to head to the courthouse, where the staff direct you to one of the courtrooms reserved for the day's events. Attendance is mandatory, it seems, and once everyone has arrived, the doors close and lock behind them.

Yesterday's investigation was only the beginning. The real work begins now.

Welcome to your week one trial! Over the next nine hours, characters will have the chance to investigate, and theorize about the murders, as well as examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations with NPC permission. As you gather evidence and discuss, we encourage you to revisit the investigation post to refamiliarize yourselves with the events of Friday morning.

There will be a mod-tag break between 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST to 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

To vote for a culprit, head over to the voting page! Voting is mandatory in this game, so please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST.

[His hair is a bit longer since day 1, but that's not case stuff. Just nearly 2 months of growth. Nothing else is in his hair. Nothing in or around his ears. The kitty ear headband isn't hiding anything in his scalp, though it was slightly askew before Nimona removed it.]

she moves down to his neck and shoulders - how are those looking? any blood or anything? obviously there's probably blood where his left arm got disconnected - it was at the shoulder, right, where it came off? can she tell if it was a clean slice or something different?]

[His left shoulder is definitely covered in blood, but that's probably expected. Neck and right shoulder look pretty clean. The cut where the arm was removed is just below the shoulder, but also at an angle: higher on the outside of his arm, lower the closer it gets to his body. It appears to be a clean slice too.]

[Yeah, there's two large wounds here: one diagonal one that seems to be a continuation of the one that cut off his arm, and then a second one across his stomach.]

i still wanna check the ax against these wounds but also: how deep are these wounds? there are corresponding cuts on his clothing, right? she'll take his shirt off after she confirms if that's true or not.]

[There are indeed corresponding cuts on his clothing. They seem pretty deep too. The first one was enough to cut off his arm, and both cuts are really deep on his chest and stomach.

She can compare them to the ax now, yes. She will find that the ax is a good match for these injuries.]

[so it might be safe to assume someone pretty strong slashed at him? to make cuts that deep, like they put their whole axussy into it.

anyway cool, she checks danny's hands too, the attached one and the severed one, to see if there's anything under his nails or anything wrong with his fingers/palm/etc. blood or scratches or bruises?]

[I wish I could unread the word axussy. But yes. A lot of force was needed to make the wounds that are on Danny.

The hands seem pretty clean all things considered. Nothing under the nails, nothing wrong with the fingers, palms, or anything else. No scratches or bruises, no blood. The left hand (and entire arm) is still somewhat cold from its time in the freezer.]

Actually, there is nothing weird about his pants or lower half at all. Probably a bit of blood from the mess of his stomach, but it's not enough to show any signs of injury below that. No wounds on his lower half anywhere too. He's got emo pants but other than that nothing weird about them. The pockets are huge though, there could be loot inside.]

she'll check his shoes to see if they're bloody or anything and then check out his feet after she's taken his shoes off.]

No blood on his shoes, and his feet look normal. No blood or injuries.]

[There's blood in places where it would make sense that it dripped down and around from the wounds on his front. Otherwise, his neck, back, and legs are clear. His butt is clear too.]
