Rise and shine. The sirens that filled the streets on Friday have died down, allowing you to spend the morning peacefully despite the news. It isn't until 11 AM that an alarm goes off on everyone's phone, citing a reminder for the trial taking place at the courthouse at noon. It turns off soon, but pops back up every ten minutes to ensure that you don't forget.

Shortly before 12 PM, all heroes feel a compulsion to head to the courthouse, where the staff direct you to one of the courtrooms reserved for the day's events. Attendance is mandatory, it seems, and once everyone has arrived, the doors close and lock behind them.

Yesterday's investigation was only the beginning. The real work begins now.

Welcome to your week one trial! Over the next nine hours, characters will have the chance to investigate, and theorize about the murders, as well as examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations with NPC permission. As you gather evidence and discuss, we encourage you to revisit the investigation post to refamiliarize yourselves with the events of Friday morning.

There will be a mod-tag break between 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST to 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

To vote for a culprit, head over to the voting page! Voting is mandatory in this game, so please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST.

As Will and I kinda suspected, the ax we found is Vane's. When I looked it over, there was blood on the blade. And some on the handle as well, a little bigger than my palm, right about where you'd have to hold it to properly use it. So if I had to guess, he might've used it himself on something or someone before he was killed. We should check his hands for blood, too.

Note under the ladder (Warehouse)

I looked at the note that was stashed underneath the top part of the ladder. And it looked typed. It also read:

A witness claims that they have never once seen Signor Sunbeam with a gun of any kind.

What's with all these cards and why does it feel like we're playing Clue...?

I looked at the cart brought to trial and the photo they took before they moved it.

There's a buncha snacks in there, but it looks like only the chips were opened and had some eaten - those weird off-brand D*ritos. The rest of the things in the cart were donuts, melonpan, jerky, and other things from the conbini.

The blood on the cart was mostly around the center of the main basket and up against the left side. The blood on the ground in the photo generally lines up with that.

The three cups from the laser tag place were orange juice, orange tea, and orange soda. Nothing weird happened, fortunately, but pretty sure that means Ponta was there at some point. Maybe with one or two other people.

Given the amount of times we've had things like case overlap, and uh... certain motivations, I think that's going to be more than likely.

...maybe he didn't drink it? Maybe he had the liquid in there to try to defend himself with...?

Found this in the warehouse and looked it over. It didn't have anything wrong with it, but...it's probably important somehow.

10 foot Ladder (Warehouse)

The 10 foot tall ladder was probably was used to paint the NEWS word on the ceiling. Also, not much noticeable about it besides the black stuff on it was probably paint from the smell.

WALKIE TALKIES

The one from the warehouse and the one from the range connect when you try to use them. Just so we have that on record.

Vane's head was pillowed with some black fabric when Will and I found him...turns out it was a cape from the Halloween store. Thing's covered in blood now though, presumably from Vane's head laying on it and bleeding through.

We found a knife in the elevator with him as well. Like the kind you can get from Cutting Edge? The whole blade was covered in blood, and there was a little bit on the handle as well. Something to check again Vane's wounds maybe, or keep in mind someone else may be hiding some injuries.

LASER TAG GEAR

I couldn't find anything especially off about them, no blood or nicks or unusual smells.

There were two large and one medium though, so... we might actually have to do some size checks and see who they fit. If I remember right, the laser tag place only has three sizes -- Small, Medium, and Large.

Hey, I'm writing down what we've found so far in terms of cards and weird pieces of paper with those statements on them - they're gonna be available for everyone to see and I'll update 'til we don't have anymore.

The sand is from the beach, and nothing was mixed in with either it or the gunpowder. We should be on the lookout for sand in anyone's shoes or clothes, and gunpowder residue or burn marks since that's the only accelerant that was at the purikura.

Especially since the gunpowder was white gunpowder. More, er, modern? More modern guns and projectiles use this stuff than older guns do. It sparks more quickly and stronger than black gunpowder does.

There was a note on the paper airplane that said "The second-tallest person was seen wielding a mysterious sword."

There's not much on these. Nothing in the quiver except the note stating that "Aquamarine Artiste would never take revenge." The arrows have normal wear and tear from being used at the range...

None of the props were damaged, miraculously. None of the ones at the scene when we arrived and I took the photo were singed, on fire, or otherwise damaged, just strewn around.

The boa and glasses Danny had been wearing when the photo I found in the booth was taken weren't damaged, either. Nothing in the boa feathers or anything.

There's nothing on the back, and it looks like maybe it was just set to print a single photo instead of doing a strip. Only thing of note is that the person in the photo could be Vane. The visible sleeve is a match for what Vane's wearing.

For our weaponry that was turned in:

The knife found by his body is a match for the slice and the stab on Vane. The axe, as we've stated, is a good match for the wounds on Danny. And a knife or a dagger could have been the cause of Ponta's wound on his thigh.

Nothing off with the empty bottle much. Just looked like it was Ponta's item from home he had with him all the time. Cap's off but still attached by one of those latches.
