Early Friday morning, our heroes awaken to the moon setting, and finally, the freedom to leave the locations they fell asleep in the night before. It's a normal morning... if you ignore the sirens echoing through the city streets.

Police and prinnies have gathered in certain locations. With the sight of heroes giving them hope, they call upon you for help in searching for evidence, that we may all learn what happened on Thursday night.

So what are you waiting for? The investigation is yours.

Welcome, heroes, to your weekly investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for locations to be searched - one set at 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST and the second at 7 PM EST / 4 PM PST. Each block will run for two hours during which characters can search the locations for evidence related to the events of Thursday night, and each location will have something to find. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

Once the two hours are up - at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST for block one and 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST for block two - threads will no longer receive mod tags and the investigation will conclude for the night. Whether you find everything is up to you, but don't worry if you don't! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9 PM EST / 6PM PST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

nimona is also wearing shoes, so she doesn't care about the glass. she will go pick up the bat - can she see if it's covered in blood at all or anything or do her eyes not work today...

otherwise she glances at saya.] I guess we go in?

[is the opening just big enough for someone their size to get in through there? or is it even larger than they are, enough to allow someone on the taller side of the height chart to go through?

is the window like fully smashed, no glass left in the pane? or just smashed enough to create that opening?

she looks around, double checking that nothing else around the outside of the building is damaged or something.]

I guess so... We run into a lot of broken glass, don't we?

[aaaaanything immediately visible from the entrance, peeking inside the konbini?]

[ The door is totally okay!

The smashed opening is big enough for somebody taller than them to get into the building. The window itself was fully smashed open.

Looking inside of the broken window, this is because the front door was barricaded by shelves. ]

Yeah, like every week.

[she grumbles. i assume that the bat is unseeable since you did not give me deets but i'll carry it anyway. she goes into the konbini through the broken window. what can she see now that she's inside past the shelves? a blood trail or anything?

are the shelves in front of the door really heavy looking? like would it have taken effort to push them in front of the door.]

[squelching]

[hm. barricade.

okay, well, carefully slipping through the broken window. is there any blood that she can see on what remains of the pane when she goes through?

how's the glass inside the konbini? any blood immediately past the broken window?

what is the state of the konbini in general?]

[ There is no blood on the bat, my bad. It's a metal bat and it was vibing outside of the broken window.

There isn't a blood trail visible from where Nimona and Saya are at the moment. But it does look like there's something near the back corner of the store. They'd have to get closer to properly examine it.

The shelves being used as a barricade do look like there would take effort to move.

There's no blood on the window or on the glass shards.

The kobini doesn't look like it's in a state of extreme disarray. ]

[glances at saya again...]

Something back there.

[ig they go towards the thing at the back corner?]

[is there any merchandise left in the shelves that were used to barricade the door?

she hums and goes take a look at that thing in the back corner with nimona. is there anything on the floor on their way there...?

anything on the walls, ceiling, or other shelves in that area?]

[ There is merchandise still left in the barricade shelves.

The thing in the back... is a knife!

A little further away, closer to the freezers, there's something bigger on the ground. It's also surrounded by a few snack packages. ]

[well, okay. she picks up the knife with her sleeve and hands it to saya...

and starts tugging her over to the bigger thing on the ground by the freezer, what... is it. how big.]

[squelching]

[their knife now. she just kind of lifts her dress up a little to cover her hand and holds it that way.

what are the snacks surrounding the something bigger?]

[ Surrounding the lump is a haphazard selection of snacks.

The something bigger is... a body! More specifically, it was Nimona's only remaining teammate.

Danny Fenton is dead. He's also missing an arm.

There's a blood trail leading towards the freezer, and one leading out the back exit. ]

there's a long, long pause.

nimona kind of just stares at him. there is smoke coming out of her mouth.

she is closing her fucking eyes and squeezing nimona's hand, hard. she will hug the shit out of her right now if she is, like, receptive to it. but she won't push it if she is not in the mood. god. what the fuck.

quietly:]

... Nimona, I'm sorry.

[the snacks aren't anything specific, right? just random snacks? are any of them damaged/opened in any way, or just... scattered?

also... nothing weird inside the freezers that she can see from here? just normal merchandise?]

[ Nimona found a body, but at what cost...

The snacks are not anything particular or specific. Some of them are opened, some of them aren't.

There's nothing weird inside of the see through freezers. However, there is also one of those box ones that's opaque. One of the blood trails goes towards that freezer. ]

[saya can hug her, that's fine. it startles her, and for a second there's a little flash of something. like her eyes multiply. she very quickly pulls ace's hat down over her face and continues to emit smoke, but from all over.]

Fine. It's fine. I'm fine. Go look at the blood trail.

[she has to like peel herself away from hugging saya, because she doesn't want to let go of her, but she will.

she crouches next to danny, kind of just... looking at the scene around him.]

[squelching]

[she also doesn't want to go, considering... well. but it's probably going to be worse if they miss something, so she reluctantly lets go of her.]

... Okay. [gently.] I'll be right back, I promise.

[following the blood trail to that box freezer, minding her step. is there anything on the floor on the way there? and what kind of trail is it, exactly? like drops of blood, or a straight up line of blood smeared on the floor like someone dragged something bloody along the ground?

looking at the box freezer, what can she notice looking at it from outside? is there anything under it, around it, or on top...?

is the lid made of see through glass, or is that opaque as well?]

[ There is blood around Danny's body, but that's to be expected.

It looks like drops of blood leading over here.

Looking down, the first thing Saya will see is Danny's left arm. The fingers have been curled so it looks like he's flipping somebody off. ]

[she kind of just. rubs at her face a bit, and then checks around the rest of the konbini. is there anything else she can see? anything on the ceiling, anything in the shelves, anything behind the counter, etc.]

[truly hope that was danny flipping off the killer and not the killer being weird.

she snaps a picture and then opens the freezer. since the meta text said the first thing she sees is danny's arm, is there anything else of interest in this freezer...? anything around danny's severed hand, or anything else curious about its position?

is this the only thing inside this freezer if she digs around?]

[ Nothing on the ceiling, or shelves. There is the blood trail leading out the back exit.

Nothing curious about the position, but if she's digging around the freezer, she'll find those ice-cream cups with wooden spoons, and drums. ]

[wanders to look out at the back exit. what's out here? does it lead anywhere else?]

like. drums plural? not just one drum?

are the drumsticks also here?

are the ice cream cups opened? or are they just chilling in this freezer because that's where they belong?]

[ Looking out of the back exit, there's some shopping cart tracks and blood that's going towards the direction of the dorms.

Sorry, just one drum. The drumsticks are also tucked inside.

They are just chilling in the freezer, because that's where they live. ]
