Sunday morning starts off quietly enough, almost peaceful after the events of the past few days. Today, the alarm on everyone's phone starts at 12 PM, with a reminder of the execution to take place at 1 PM at the stadium. Unlike the Saturday notifications, however, this is the only reminder you get. It appears that attendance is not mandatory this time.

Well. Not for all of you, anyway. One of you feels a compulsion to head to the stadium, heading straight inside and following the staff to ready themselves for what's to come. All others who arrive at the stadium, hero or civilian, are led to spectator seating.

As the clock strikes 1 PM, Kogitsunemaru walks into the arena. On the opposite end of the field, Jolyne steps out to greet them. As long as they both live, neither will able to leave the area, nor will any outsiders be able to enter.

You don't have to watch, of course. That's your choice. But with the event being broadcast all over the city, it may be hard to avoid. In-person or across town, everywhere is buzzing with gossip of the newly discovered villain about to face justice. Regardless of where you go or whether you choose to watch, the only thing to do now is wait.

[ this is it. this is definitely probably... it.. and her fists tremble. she's beaten people to death before. this is nothing new for jolyne. she's fought for her life, and her muscles remember it as she slams him back against a wall. her thoughts blare forward, furious still, but upset that perhaps... maybe she could have learned a thing or two from him. things could have been better, kinder. perhaps. instead:

look. at. me.

her hands flare up one last time, crimson red crowned in fluttering bits of blue.

face me. i'm angry with you.




but we'll see you again soon.

and with one final breath, she will deliver a series of deadly blows, the sort that are meant to break bone, to pulverize organ. it's a killing series of blows, and each strike the muscles in her back bunch, electric, and her hair looses and the fire at her fists is an indomitable inferno. ]


- Goodbye... Kogitsunemaru...

[ it hurts, that's for certain. even he can't help the gasps of pain at feeling his body crunch under her hands. despite wanting to hide it, the tight grip he's held onto it this entire time, there's no hiding the sheer fear in his eyes when she strikes true.

he doesn't want her to see that. he doesn't want her to regret it. and so, through broken bones and destroyed organs, he breathes out his final words ]

You......... did well. Congratulations.

[ his blurry eyes then flick to the spectators, seeking and searching before smiling ever so slightly. this fox will be going ahead then.


Kogitsunemaru is dead ]

THE DAY IS SAVED

 

[ As Kogitsunemaru's body disappears with a poof of smoke, along with all evidence of what just occurred, the barrier goes down.

Kogitsunemaru is dead.

Jolyne is free to exit the stadium anytime they choose, as are any other onlookers. ]
