Sunday morning starts off quietly enough, almost peaceful after the events of the past few days. Today, the alarm on everyone's phone starts at 12 PM, with a reminder of the execution to take place at 1 PM at the stadium. Unlike the Saturday notifications, however, this is the only reminder you get. It appears that attendance is not mandatory this time.

Well. Not for all of you, anyway. One of you feels a compulsion to head to the stadium, heading straight inside and following the staff to ready themselves for what's to come. All others who arrive at the stadium, hero or civilian, are led to spectator seating.

As the clock strikes 1 PM, Kogitsunemaru walks into the arena. On the opposite end of the field, Jolyne steps out to greet them. As long as they both live, neither will able to leave the area, nor will any outsiders be able to enter.

You don't have to watch, of course. That's your choice. But with the event being broadcast all over the city, it may be hard to avoid. In-person or across town, everywhere is buzzing with gossip of the newly discovered villain about to face justice. Regardless of where you go or whether you choose to watch, the only thing to do now is wait.

[ his gaze flickers between the timer and the arena and he takes a breath that does nothing to ease the tension. but he's staying close and trying to relax even a little. ]

...she really should just punch him and disarm him that way. A swordsman is only as good as his weapon in many cases. [ but it's also the speed that alarms him just a little. is this what lillium had to deal with...? ]

That's what I did. [she says, quietly, watching.] What's he gonna do without his sword, anyway? She punches harder than he does.

[she's also trying to figure out how they're going to murder each other with sticks, but she did a kill with a pole so ig it's not impossible.

oh and then she hits him with fire fists while i was typing this so she kind of just - laughs, without meaning to. fuck, get him.]

[ it's fine the thing is he also laughs without meaning to. hell yes. ]

Better. [ he's leaning on her and watching the fight more closely just to make sure. ] About time they evened the playing field.

[a pause, and she leans over to whisper something to nico before looking back at the arena.]

Yeah, for sure. [...] She'll make it quick.

[resumed]

[ he listens. his eyebrows raise gently, though less surprised and more thoughtful. ]

...good. [ and those are his feelings on that. ] She's not going to let up now that she's working with something she knows. None of us are great at backing down.
