Rise and shine. The sirens that filled the streets on Friday have died down, allowing you to spend the morning peacefully despite the news. It isn't until 11 AM that an alarm goes off on everyone's phone, citing a reminder for the trial taking place at the courthouse at noon. It turns off soon, but pops back up every ten minutes to ensure that you don't forget.

Shortly before 12 PM, all heroes feel a compulsion to head to the courthouse, where the staff direct you to one of the courtrooms reserved for the day's events. Attendance is mandatory, it seems, and once everyone has arrived, the doors close and lock behind them.

Yesterday's investigation was only the beginning. The real work begins now.

Welcome to your week one trial! Over the next nine hours, characters will have the chance to investigate, and theorize about the murders, as well as examine the body of the victim and explore relevant locations with NPC permission. As you gather evidence and discuss, we encourage you to revisit the investigation post to refamiliarize yourselves with the events of Friday morning.

There will be a mod-tag break between 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST to 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.

To vote for a culprit, head over to the voting page! Voting is mandatory in this game, so please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST.

I'm not going to grow a mustache on purpose, I already know facial hair isn't a good look on me.

It's really not. [ bluntly. ] But at least you recognize that. I'm still wondering what you did to get hit with three of them all at once though.

[he kind of sighs and rests his head on nico's shoulder.]

But we were supposed to play pranks this week, so - maybe three someones just thought they'd be funny pranks and hit me separately.

[resumed]

I did consider that. [ he leans his head on will's. i guess this close he can also notice nico's wearing eyeliner for some reason. bat goth aesthetic. maybe it's just his new one. either way, claws come up to pet his hair gently. ] Hopefully everybody got it out of their system now.

[stunwhistle]

[well. he will just kind of admire how pretty nico looks with eyeliner.]

...yeah, hopefully.

[ it's fine. he's going to drape himself over will and let him continue admiring how pretty he looks while he's looking at hangman on his phone. ]

[stunwhistle]

[his gaze keeps drifting to nico's attempts at hangman from time to time.]

[ squinting tiredly. ]

The letters are hurting my head a little.

[stunwhistle]

[he kisses his temple.]

Sorry. I think I've got some painkillers in my first aid kit if you want?

[resumed]

[ he's putting his phone away and nodding. yeah please. ]

[stunwhistle]

[opens up his first aid kit, gets some painkillers, and offers them and a bottle of water that he pulls out of one of his cargo short pockets to nico]

[ he is taking both and he's curling up to rest his face in will's shoulder and rest his eyes for a second. puzzles for everyone else but his dyslexic ass. ]

[stunwhistle]

[he'll tap out of puzzles too to rest with nico. sorry fam]

People have been very generous with curses, this week. Particularly applying multiple curses at once.

[resumed]

It doesn't help that people aren't talking to each other and are probably overlapping, too. So that's fun and annoying.

[inquired]

Indeed.

...Several of the curses as we know of are not accounted for on this list, as well, though that's part and parcel from what we've seen so far. Unless 'Spirit of Music' turns one into a hamster.

Is that what you were? [ amused. ] At least that one didn't last too long on you. Small blessings? But yeah I've noticed that, too.

[inquired]

Or a squirrel, or whatever it was. Some sort of rodent.

[ gazes ] It had odd aftereffects, as well, that lasted for an extra day on top of that.

[resumed]

[ a slow blink. ]

What kind of weird aftereffects?

[inquired]

Rodentlike ones. I managed to suppress it for the most part.

[ but sometimes you end up eating like this for like a day on top of everything else ]

[ oh my god. ]

Ah. Well, uh. Congratulations on being fully human again, I suppose.
