Week 6: Trial

week 6:
trial
Rise and shine. The sirens that filled the streets on Friday have died down, allowing you to spend the morning peacefully despite the news. It isn't until 11 AM that an alarm goes off on everyone's phone, citing a reminder for the trial taking place at the courthouse at noon. It turns off soon, but pops back up every ten minutes to ensure that you don't forget.
Shortly before 12 PM, all heroes feel a compulsion to head to the courthouse, where the staff direct you to one of the courtrooms reserved for the day's events. Attendance is mandatory, it seems, and once everyone has arrived, the doors close and lock behind them.
Yesterday's investigation was only the beginning. The real work begins now.
There will be a mod-tag break between 5 PM EST / 2 PM PST to 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST. While the trial may continue and players can tag each other, mod-led threads such as questions and investigations will be on hold.
To vote for a culprit, head over to the voting page! Voting is mandatory in this game, so please be sure that your vote is in by the time trial finishes at 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST.
Good luck, heroes!

The tallest person and the shortest person on the list are Fox and Hana, so they didn't get controlled. The second tallest person was... Vane? So he was holding a sword?
The person with a convenient gun was either possessed by the moon or suffering from a loss of control... that wasn't Vane, though, right?

[ ?? is that not the lie ]

So that'd be one of the things that started with "a witness claims" that would be a lie...

Did Vane know how to use a gun? [ ... ] We think it was a modern one, but honestly looking at what Axel told us about Ponta's body, maybe the 'gun' was convenient because it was in the shooting range?

I... don't know a lot about Vane. I never talked to him, so I don't know if he knew how to use a gun. But he didn't use that to kill Danny.

Did we check all the weapons against the wounds the bodies had?

So. Putting aside Vane killing Danny, because we're pretty sure that's what happened there. Do we assume Ponta's death was due to what's been mentioned here? An inter-team kill? It wouldn't surprise me if there was collaboration there, because we found the two walkie talkies and the connecting puzzles to find Ponta's body and evidence someonea at the shooting range would've been able to talk with whoever was at the warehouse. It's just... who that collaboration was between that I'm not sure about. Ponta and someone.
Making it obvious something was hidden, but making us work to find it. But Vane and Danny are also dead. We think Vane was controlled into killing Danny, and then whoever controlled him killed Vane to clean up any loose ends. Does... that seem like a potential order of events?

[she's sitting here just thinking about all of this and very slowly turning to smoke.]
I don't think Vane was supposed to end up dead. I don't think Danny was either.

[ ... ] But, his body-- [ the CRIMINAL TEARS. ]

... Maybe he just wasn't expecting it to be that violent. Maybe it was Danny being taken out but they promised to do it nice. Or maybe Vane and Danny met up, found someone coming for them, ran away, and then Vane got controlled into doing it.
There's so many possibilities. I don't have a way to confirm it.

Unless the employees think you're eight and refuse to let you in. [ SALTY ]

Tama, tell me I'm not insane. The statement says there should be five, but we have... six motives? And we found the cards in six different locations.
[ He's so fucking tired this game is a sham. ]

But there's a statement talking about the perosn whose eye colour is always changing admiring a hero trading card, and I can't see where that fits in.
