A warm welcome to new heroes!

You wake up in a bed, big enough to fit you, no matter your size. Mind your head as you remove yourself from the bed. Getting out of bed, you see dozens and dozens of identical capsule sized "rooms". It seems like it's just you and the other souls who've only recently arrived.

Your usual outfit is folded neatly in the capsule, and your item from home is set aside in your room. It seems whatever force brought you here decided to put you in a superhero themed kigu (Superman, Batman, Captain America, etc).

The lobby of the hotel is not staffed, but there is a single newspaper found in the seating area. There's not too much to explore outside of the capsule hotel at the moment. Just outside is a wall of vending machines, and everything else is taped off with caution tape and small blue penguin-like creatures telling you not to go any further. "It's dangerous, dood!" These penguins are running around with what look like building materials, ducking underneath the caution tape to start rebuilding an absolutely wrecked city.

One of the creatures stands in front of the hotel, "Welcome to Oceanside City, dood! Take these and don't lose them. Sorry the team leads couldn’t meet you yet, they’re busy..."

They hand you a bag with:

• A smartphone in a case of your team's color, emblazoned with the team's animal
• Change for the vending machines
• A boxed lunch

With that, the creature sends you on your way. Time to get to know your new home.

I think we skipped right past ominous the minute we woke up with no memory of how we got here.

Hm... can't argue with that. I really don't know if I want my obituary to say that I died from angry penguins, though.

Of all of the embarrassing ways to die, that's pretty up there. Right above "choking on penguin-shaped rice" and below "tripping over them because they're three feet tall." [ he shakes his head. ]

Hotel doesn't have a lot of things that can be used for weaponry in the first place. Even the utensils are basic.

Careful, or you might speak those into existence.

[i hope someone has tripped over a prinny]

Then you just gotta get creative, right?

[resumed]

Wouldn't that be a shame. [ sometimes things just happen? but also tripping over a prinny is sort of funny in and of itself. ]

We seem to have a lot of time to ourselves and nobody really watching. It's just enough to find something. [ hopefully. ] When I woke up a lot of my things I have on me were missing.

Mm, same. Super weird that someone knocked us out, stripped us and put us in new clothes, and then took most of our stuff? Like, not even everything.

[resumed]

Even weirder is they also left our own clothes with us. Why bother changing us in the first place? [ he says this but he's still wearing his pikachu kigu for reasons unknown. ]

Were you only left with one thing, too?

[chiemi is also wearing her spiderwoman kigu still. it's fine.]

Yup. Guess we're all in that same boat?

[resumed]

Yup. [ and if that ain't weird. ] It's possible everything else is being stored in a different part of the hotel we don't have access to. Or the team leads or whoever have everything.

Hm... hopefully. There's some stuff I'd like to get back.

It's jewelry. Not the kind of thing where, if you lose it, you just go, "them's the breaks," you know?

I understand. I have something similar I want back, too. Here's hoping we find them sooner than later.
