A warm welcome to new heroes!

You wake up in a bed, big enough to fit you, no matter your size. Mind your head as you remove yourself from the bed. Getting out of bed, you see dozens and dozens of identical capsule sized "rooms". It seems like it's just you and the other souls who've only recently arrived.

Your usual outfit is folded neatly in the capsule, and your item from home is set aside in your room. It seems whatever force brought you here decided to put you in a superhero themed kigu (Superman, Batman, Captain America, etc).

The lobby of the hotel is not staffed, but there is a single newspaper found in the seating area. There's not too much to explore outside of the capsule hotel at the moment. Just outside is a wall of vending machines, and everything else is taped off with caution tape and small blue penguin-like creatures telling you not to go any further. "It's dangerous, dood!" These penguins are running around with what look like building materials, ducking underneath the caution tape to start rebuilding an absolutely wrecked city.

One of the creatures stands in front of the hotel, "Welcome to Oceanside City, dood! Take these and don't lose them. Sorry the team leads couldn’t meet you yet, they’re busy..."

They hand you a bag with:

• A smartphone in a case of your team's color, emblazoned with the team's animal
• Change for the vending machines
• A boxed lunch

With that, the creature sends you on your way. Time to get to know your new home.

Yes - that makes two of us. I tried to question our intrepid helpers a bit, but, as you've said, they're unawares.

[ nooo coercing the prinnies. ] I'm not much of a fan of sitting around and waiting. How about you?

For the time being, the alternative is pacing back and forth in this hotel. I don't know how much better that really is.

But I suppose it's at least exercise.

But, I don't know. The people watching is quite entertaining, don't you think? Plenty of 'fellow heroes' to get to know and understand...

They shouldn't pick on the civilians like that. It's not very heroic behavior...

It most certainly is not. Do you know, I believe the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result...

I hope they learn sooner rather than later... I don't want to have to intervene, but...

Sometimes, a bit of divine intervention is necessary as a lesson in and of itself.
