Sunday morning starts off quietly enough, almost peaceful after the events of the past few days. Today, the alarm on everyone's phone starts at 12 PM, with a reminder of the execution to take place at 1 PM at the stadium. Unlike the Saturday notifications, however, this is the only reminder you get. It appears that attendance is not mandatory this time.

Well. Not for all of you, anyway. One of you feels a compulsion to head to the stadium, heading straight inside and following the staff to ready themselves for what's to come. All others who arrive at the stadium, hero or civilian, are led to spectator seating.

As the clock strikes 1 PM, Ace walks into the arena. On the opposite end of the field, Saya steps out to greet them. As long as they both live, neither will able to leave the area, nor will any outsiders be able to enter.

You don't have to watch, of course. That's your choice. But with the event being broadcast all over the city, it may be hard to avoid. In-person or across town, everywhere is buzzing with gossip of the newly discovered villain about to face justice. Regardless of where you go or whether you choose to watch, the only thing to do now is wait.

[ there's a few important things to note when ace marches into today's arena. first, he's shirtless again! the titties have been freed. he's not wearing his hat, either. second, for some reason, shoujo sparkles and bubbles are following his every move.

...third, we are looking at an olympic sized diving pool. ]

... That's probably what I should've expected. [ he sounds like he almost finds it funny, though the anger laced through the words is far more potent. he doesn't stare at the pool for too long, because he looks at the sparkles and bubbles behind him and sort of sighs. they suddenly stop. ] Seriously, give a guy some dignity.

[ is that so much to ask. All that done, he finally turns to see who's being dragged into this, looking a little worried...

and then a lot worried. ]

[well.

it seems like this week is just committed to being hell from start to finish.

saya already looks unwell when she steps into arena — and then whatever little color was left drains from her face the moment she sees the pool. she sucks in a breath, eyes wide, and drags her gaze away from the water to face him.]

... Ace. [in the tiniest voice. somewhat angry but mostly distraught. it sounds like she's on the verge of tears all over again.] You... can't swim.

[he knows this. everyone knows this. but nothing else will come out of her mouth right now. there is literally nothing else in the arena for them to use, besides the pool.]

[ Snake is standing as close to the barrier as they can today. The proceedings have their full focus. ]

[Tiger is also by Snake, standing on the side Rabbit isn't currently on. They say nothing but every so often they glance over to Snake to make sure they are ok.]

when saya walks out as well she just presses the knuckles of one hand to her mouth and folds her other arm tightly around her middle. ]

[ well. danny is sitting here, looking grim as ever, and tired and unhappy to boot. he knows he's going to hate this, and yet, he has to be here. ]

well, temenos is here, sans his usual cloak. he isn't particularly reactive as a person, but the second saya comes out, his expression darkens and he tenses, sitting very, very still. ]

One last kick in the teeth for the road, it seems.

[i cannot describe to you how fucking bad nimona looks today she's pale and small and stumbling down to the barrier to sit right up against it.

she's wearing a white cloak that's too big for her and a familiar hat, and she just doesn't make any noise at all when saya walks out. her eyes just faintly glow white.]

They only look worse when Saya steps in too. ]

[ well. he's here. with will at his side as usual and holding his hand as he stares into middle distance and once again calculates what it'll take to blow up oceanside with his mind.

of course it could get worse. it always does. why the fuck wouldn't it? ]

[So Robin is here in her sunglasses so no one can see that her bags hasn't improved and she's been crying on and off all night. Coffee in hand because she hasn't eaten since the trial finished. Sitting in one of the seats further away from everything because she doesn't want to be here and without Saya sitting next to her she feels pretty alone. Has she been sleeping? No. Is there a chance she might just pass out from exhaustion? Yep. But she managed to drag herself here.]

This lasts for one minute before power is restored. ]
