Early Friday morning, our heroes awaken to the moon setting, and finally, the freedom to leave the locations they fell asleep in the night before. It's a normal morning... if you ignore the sirens echoing through the city streets.

Police and prinnies have gathered in certain locations. With the sight of heroes giving them hope, they call upon you for help in searching for evidence, that we may all learn what happened on Thursday night.

So what are you waiting for? The investigation is yours.

Welcome, heroes, to your second investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for locations to be searched - one set at 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST and the second at 7 PM EST / 4 PM PST. Each block will run for two hours during which characters can search the locations for evidence related to the events of Thursday night, and each location will have something to find. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

Once the two hours are up - at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST for block one and 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST for block two - threads will no longer receive mod tags and the investigation will conclude for the night. Whether you find everything is up to you, but don't worry if you don't! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9 PM EST / 6PM PST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

[ Also is the offending pan still anywhere around the wall that has been smashed? And if Ponta goes over there, is anything more noteworthy in the area than elsewhere? ]

[ There are a few aisles of shelves. Taking a look underneath one of them, she can find a pair of kitchen shears. Nothing seems especially off about the rack, besides missing spices.

The pan is right underneath this wall, and upside down. There are other pots and pans found here too. ]

[is there anything else on the floor when she retrieves the scissors? like blood on the spot where she found them, for example, or anything like that.

is there a check-out counter? if so, she goes take a look at it.]

[ Yeah, blood is also Ponta's next impulse to check. He's going to be picking up that pan and examining it. Did that only hit the wall or does it have residue of blood or anything else on it? ]

[ There's not blood on the spot where she found them, but there is a little blood on the blades themselves.

Taking a look behind the check-out counter she can find a torn paper with some writing on it.

Ponta is looking at the pan. It's a very nice, red crock pot that would be great for making large meals! It looks like it was used to hit the wall. There's no blood or other residue on the crock pot itself.

By lifting it, he's revealed something on the ground. ]

[okay, cool. she's going to collect that torn paper, and i am assuming she can't read it until tomorrow? she can be illiterate.

are there any notebooks or pens/pencils in the check-out counter? like, a source for the torn paper and whatever was used to write on it.

anything else under the counter, or in any drawers or trashbins if there are any? how's the cash register looking?

ALSO, going to backtrack for a second before i forget-- to check under the rest of the shelves real quick, because i noticed the mod tag wording was suspicious right after luna's tag came in... is there anything else under the shelves if she checks all of them and not just the one she found the scissors in?]

[ AND WHILE SAYA IS DOING ALL THIS PRODUCTIVE STUFF, I have but one question: what is mystery object?? ]

[ Saya is temporarily illiterate, please wait for trial before you can read.

There are no pens, notebooks, or pencils around the check-out counter. Another small scrap of paper is found near the trashbin.

Checking all the shelves reveals another torn piece of paper.

Lifting the pot reveals a small red ball made of plastic. ]

[PAPER... she grabs both scraps of of paper, then.

is there anything hiding between the pieces of merchandise that are still on the shelves? if any.]

[ Huh. Hello there, red ball.

Is the red ball stained in any way? What size is it roughly? Is it like... soft like gummy or hard plastic? Does it open like a gashapon ball? ]

[ This little ball is slightly smaller than a marble, and doesn't look stained. It does not open, and the plastic is hard.

If Saya looks carefully she can find one small scrap of paper on the shelves. ]

[oh my god how many scraps of paper are there

adds that to the collection.

is there a storage room? a bathroom? if not, she's just gonna whole ass climb on top of the checkout counter to see if she spots anything on the tops of the shelves or anything weird that they haven't noticed yet, with a higher vantage point.]

[ Meanwhile Ponta is going to pocket the mystery ball and then start rifling through all the kitchenware that is on the floor. He's just kicking it aside to check any spots on the ground that were covered up so far. ]

[ There is no storage room here, and no bathroom either. She is free to climb upon the checkout counter. There is nothing on the top of the shelves. From here, Saya can see that the store is a mess.

Ponta's kicking will reveal a larger torn piece of paper. ]

[truly glad saya is here blissfully unaware of the fact that i am about to put a hit on flurry

she will climb down and join ponta in moving the shit on the floor around, checking for anything that might be buried.]

... we're gonna have quite a bit of puzzling to do, huh?

[ SO MANY SCRAPS OF PAPER.

Once they've covered the whole floor, Ponta is going to head back to the door to take a good look at it. Is there any damage to it? Anything stuck to the handles or anything like that? ]

[ How many pieces of paper do you each have?

Saya 4 pieces?
Ponta 1 piece?

Looking at the door, there's no visible damage. Nobody threw a rock at a door here. It doesn't seem like there's anything stuck to it either. ]

[yeah! saya has four scraps of paper.

just to confirm, there is nothing else hiding under the mess if she continues pushing the stuff on the floor aside?]

[ Yup, Ponta's got the one.

And uhhhh we checked below the shelves and on top of the shelves, so is there anything of interest left on the shelves? ]

[ Saya does not find anything more on the floor, besides more of the spices on the ground.

On the shelves, Ponta can find one more piece of paper. ]

[SQUINTS... i have no idea what else is in the store. i guess they looked through the shelves, but is there anything hiding inside the merchandise?

like, inside the pots and pans, or hiding inside a salt shaker or something. i am out of ideas.]

[ Yay, more paper!

Uhm... okay, what's left... He kinda feels like he has to clean this place up, but that's a bad idea for a crime scene, rip. Yeah I got nothing anymore. ]

[ Looking inside a salt shaker, Saya will find salt. There's nothing within the various pots and pans. ]

[cool.

she sits behind the check out counter and double checks to make sure she didn't miss anything here, i guess.

and then she glances at ponta like... help. what now.]

... well. This told us nothing.

[ Whatever's written on their paper jigsaw puzzle has to wait until they are no longer illiterate after all.

Ponta is just back to rifling through the mess, mostly to keep himself busy. ]
