Early Friday morning, our heroes awaken to the moon setting, and finally, the freedom to leave the locations they fell asleep in the night before. It's a normal morning... if you ignore the sirens echoing through the city streets.

Police and prinnies have gathered in certain locations. With the sight of heroes giving them hope, they call upon you for help in searching for evidence, that we may all learn what happened on Thursday night.

So what are you waiting for? The investigation is yours.

Welcome, heroes, to your second investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for locations to be searched - one set at 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST and the second at 7 PM EST / 4 PM PST. Each block will run for two hours during which characters can search the locations for evidence related to the events of Thursday night, and each location will have something to find. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

Once the two hours are up - at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST for block one and 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST for block two - threads will no longer receive mod tags and the investigation will conclude for the night. Whether you find everything is up to you, but don't worry if you don't! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9 PM EST / 6PM PST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

[ There is zero enthusiasm in this greeting. He is not surprised they woke up to sirens but he is still annoyed about it.

Ok, what we got? ]

[ There's nothing right outside of this store. Looking inside, it looks like there's been an altercation here, pots, pans, and heavy cast iron wares were knocked to the ground.

This place is in disarray. ]

[saya opens her mouth—]

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. It's wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway, because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

she stares at her hands and goes take a look at all the stuff knocked to the ground, like nothing happened.

hello, anything hiding under this mess? any blood or trails leading out of the store, since she's looking at the floor already.]

[ Is he going to have to listen to all of the Bee Movie script as they investigate this place? God help them both.

Anyway. Boy is he glad he got his kitchen shopping in during the week already. Ponta is going to look at the ceiling and the windows - did everyone leave through the door this time? ]

[ Looking underneath the mess, Saya will find a bunch of spices all around, along with the containers that they'd usually be in.

There's no trail that leads out of the store.

Looking at the ceiling and the windows, they're still intact. Whoever fought here had the decency not to break any windows. How... kind...? ]

[she has decided she hates the bee movie, actually.]

It's ok. It's fine.

[are these, like, any specific spices? or just assorted spices? is there anything weird about the containers?

i have no idea what is even in the store. are the gnomes okay?]

Just a day of this and you'll get all the Bee content out of your system.

[ 'Just' a day. Help.

Okay, is the damage in the store concentrated in any specific corner, or is the whole place just crushed indiscriminately? Are there any back rooms to check? ]

[ There's walls, there's kitchen supplies, there's shelves full of spices. there are no knives. As of Wednesday all of the chef statues were smashed. The gnomes didn't survive the smashening either.

Saya thinks to check the spices, and she'll notice that the thrown containers are: turkey rub, ground ginger, truffle infused popcorn salt, Parmesan herb blend, and cinnamon powder.

The containers look like they've been thrown.

The damage seems indiscriminate. One of the walls looks like a large pan smashed into it. ]

[HM. significant spices... i see...

she just hums in response, not wanting to share more bee facts.

i assume this is the type of store that has, like, aisles of shelves. has anything rolled under the shelves if she takes a look? or is there anything off about whatever type of rack or shelf is in the store?]

[ Also is the offending pan still anywhere around the wall that has been smashed? And if Ponta goes over there, is anything more noteworthy in the area than elsewhere? ]

[ There are a few aisles of shelves. Taking a look underneath one of them, she can find a pair of kitchen shears. Nothing seems especially off about the rack, besides missing spices.

The pan is right underneath this wall, and upside down. There are other pots and pans found here too. ]

[is there anything else on the floor when she retrieves the scissors? like blood on the spot where she found them, for example, or anything like that.

is there a check-out counter? if so, she goes take a look at it.]

[ Yeah, blood is also Ponta's next impulse to check. He's going to be picking up that pan and examining it. Did that only hit the wall or does it have residue of blood or anything else on it? ]

[ There's not blood on the spot where she found them, but there is a little blood on the blades themselves.

Taking a look behind the check-out counter she can find a torn paper with some writing on it.

Ponta is looking at the pan. It's a very nice, red crock pot that would be great for making large meals! It looks like it was used to hit the wall. There's no blood or other residue on the crock pot itself.

By lifting it, he's revealed something on the ground. ]

[okay, cool. she's going to collect that torn paper, and i am assuming she can't read it until tomorrow? she can be illiterate.

are there any notebooks or pens/pencils in the check-out counter? like, a source for the torn paper and whatever was used to write on it.

anything else under the counter, or in any drawers or trashbins if there are any? how's the cash register looking?

ALSO, going to backtrack for a second before i forget-- to check under the rest of the shelves real quick, because i noticed the mod tag wording was suspicious right after luna's tag came in... is there anything else under the shelves if she checks all of them and not just the one she found the scissors in?]

[ AND WHILE SAYA IS DOING ALL THIS PRODUCTIVE STUFF, I have but one question: what is mystery object?? ]

There are no pens, notebooks, or pencils around the check-out counter. Another small scrap of paper is found near the trashbin.

Checking all the shelves reveals another torn piece of paper.

Lifting the pot reveals a small red ball made of plastic. ]

[squelching]

[PAPER... she grabs both scraps of of paper, then.

is there anything hiding between the pieces of merchandise that are still on the shelves? if any.]

[ Huh. Hello there, red ball.

Is the red ball stained in any way? What size is it roughly? Is it like... soft like gummy or hard plastic? Does it open like a gashapon ball? ]

[ This little ball is slightly smaller than a marble, and doesn't look stained. It does not open, and the plastic is hard.

If Saya looks carefully she can find one small scrap of paper on the shelves. ]

[squelching]

[oh my god how many scraps of paper are there

is there a storage room? a bathroom? if not, she's just gonna whole ass climb on top of the checkout counter to see if she spots anything on the tops of the shelves or anything weird that they haven't noticed yet, with a higher vantage point.]

[ Meanwhile Ponta is going to pocket the mystery ball and then start rifling through all the kitchenware that is on the floor. He's just kicking it aside to check any spots on the ground that were covered up so far. ]

[ There is no storage room here, and no bathroom either. She is free to climb upon the checkout counter. There is nothing on the top of the shelves. From here, Saya can see that the store is a mess.

Ponta's kicking will reveal a larger torn piece of paper. ]
