Week 1: Investigation

week 1:
investigation
Early Friday morning, our heroes awaken to the moon setting, and finally, the freedom to leave the locations they fell asleep in the night before. It's a normal morning... if you ignore the sirens echoing through the city streets.
Police and prinnies have gathered in certain locations. With the sight of heroes giving them hope, they call upon you for help in searching for evidence, that we may all learn what happened on Thursday night.
So what are you waiting for? The investigation is yours.════════ ⋆★⋆ ════════
Welcome, heroes, to your second investigation!
We will be posting top-levels for locations to be searched - one set at 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST and the second at 7 PM EST / 4 PM PST. Each block will run for two hours during which characters can search the locations for evidence related to the events of Thursday night, and each location will have something to find. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.
Once the two hours are up - at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST for block one and 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST for block two - threads will no longer receive mod tags and the investigation will conclude for the night. Whether you find everything is up to you, but don't worry if you don't! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9 PM EST / 6PM PST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).
If you have any questions at any time, please let us know by pinging us on Discord!

it kind of sounds like something blew the fuck up in here if it even hit the ceiling lights, so is there any sign of scorching or any other kind of marks that can be seen from a cursory look around? ]
no subject
are there any signs of what may have caused the lights to break? like are there any scratches or dents where the bulbs used to be, like someone might have smashed them up? also scorch marks, but datz is already checking for that, so.
are the arcade game screens also broken up, since that's glass?
does there seem to be anything on the tops of the games, prize booth, or any of the doors? how's the crane machine looking today?]
no subject
There is no sign of scorching or any other marks on the ceiling. There are also no scratches or dents on the light fixtures.
The arcade game screens are indeed broken too, and Saya will actually find a screen that looks a little weird. Still broken, but weird compared to the others.]
no subject
and put saya down so she can look at the weird screen. what's on the trading card?]
no subject
datz is going to just survey the perimeter here... he'll go check around/on/behind the prize counter first, anything to see here? ]
no subject
yeah, she's going to take a look at that weird screen. what game is it, and why does it look different from the others?]
no subject
The real Datz will find more broken glass behind the prize counter.
It's a Duck Hunt game, and there's something weird about the glass screen on it specifically. It's broken, like all the other glass, but it looks a little different.]
no subject
Uhh. I found a card of you? [waves it at datz...]
no subject
[ pauses the investigation for a sec to come check it out, is it a more flattering picture than his angry wanted poster???? ]
no subject
like, does it look like it was broken in a different pattern? are there stains or anything of the sort sticking to the broken glass glass? can she see anything weird if she peers into the duck hunt machine, through the broken glass?
she will use her phone flashlight to take a better look at all of this, assuming the phones have flashlights.]
no subject
It does look like it was broken differently, yes. And when Saya looks in the machine, she will see a bullet.]

no subject
BUT I GUESS HE NEEDS TO BE PRODUCTIVE IN THESE REMAINING 40 MINUTES SO HE'LL GO CHECK AROUND ELSEWHERE.... how about by the crane games, how's it looking here aside from empty of stuffed animals ]
no subject
[JUST SAYING THIS. WITH NO CONTEXT. STOP SHOOTING UP THE ARCADE!!!!
anyway, she carefully reaches for the bullet to remove it. is it only the one? and is there anything around or under the machine?
also anything under around the rest of the games, too?]
no subject
The crane games aren't empty anymore, now they are full of broken glass.
Saya can reach in to grab for the bullet, but it's surrounded by sharp glass. Good luck not getting cut on it.
Also at this point all three of them would realize there is a faint smell of smoke in the arcade.]
no subject
where is the smoke coming from... she's going to go look for the source of smoke. she should probably check the crane games for stuff since they found a bullet there last time but like, she doesn't. she shoves the card in her pocket.
is it like, coming from somewhere or is just the smell of smoke around?]
no subject
he'll try to FOLLOW THE SCENT LIKE A MISERABLE DOG ]
no subject
is the smoke visible...? or does the smell seem to be coming from a particular direction?
we probably do not need three people to search for fire, though, so saya sniffs the air but heads over to the crane machine to take a closer look at it. anything weird about the broken glass? or visible under the shards of glass?]
no subject
There is nothing weird about the glass in the crame game, other than it being broken like all the other glass. It seems to be consistent with the broken glass from everywhere else, minus the Duck Hunt game.]
no subject
is there anything else weird here? like the walls, blood, weird signs, anything like that? can she go look at the glass again where it was crunched and take a closer look to see if there are like boot prints or anything on it, maybe, since you said she couldn't tell anything at a glance. are any of the other game cabinets fucked up?
is there a fork in an electrical outlet somewhere. a toaster in a bathtub perhaps]
no subject
i guess he'll like??? try to get down and look under the games for anything that might have rolled under something? i rolled a 10 for if he eats shit doing this so idk i guess he's cutting his hands a little ]
no subject
how is the employee backroom looking? and the storage room?
is the coin exchange machine okay?
she will look at the electrical outlets/plugs/cables??? actually, even with the broken screens, are any of the arcade machines on? we have electricity running in the arcade, right?]
no subject
It's very difficult to tell any specific shape about the crunched glass. It could be a boot print but it could also be other things. Whatever crunched the glass crunched it both inside and outside the arcade. There is not a fork in a socket anywhere.
Datz can get down (and cut his hands? Datz please, there's broken glass everywhere)and all he finds under the games is more broken glass.
The crane itself is okay, as is the coin exchange machine. The employee backroom is locked, as is the storage room.
The arcade machines are on and plugged in, just busted. None of the outlets/plugs/cables look damaged.]
no subject
[she says, a little confused, but. i can't think of anything else and nimona longs for the swan boats]
... I'm gonna keep the card for now.
no subject
[ if there's nothing else to see anywhere in this damn arcade i guess we'll just go sit in a swan boat ]
