Early Friday morning, our heroes awaken to the moon setting, and finally, the freedom to leave the locations they fell asleep in the night before. It's a normal morning... if you ignore the sirens echoing through the city streets.

Police and prinnies have gathered in certain locations. With the sight of heroes giving them hope, they call upon you for help in searching for evidence, that we may all learn what happened on Thursday night.

So what are you waiting for? The investigation is yours.

Welcome, heroes, to your second investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for locations to be searched - one set at 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST and the second at 7 PM EST / 4 PM PST. Each block will run for two hours during which characters can search the locations for evidence related to the events of Thursday night, and each location will have something to find. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

Once the two hours are up - at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST for block one and 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST for block two - threads will no longer receive mod tags and the investigation will conclude for the night. Whether you find everything is up to you, but don't worry if you don't! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9 PM EST / 6PM PST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

[ No, no indication of tampering. Please assume it's just because stuff is weird at night like the phones and Internet not working.

There's nothing behind the counter except a stray thrown item.

Looking under the furniture there's also a few stray items from the shelves.

All items seem burnt. ]

[what kind of burnt items are these? umbrellas? snacks? haircare stuff? batteries? something i didn't think to name but will would be able to identify because he has eyes? there are so many things that can be burnt in a convenience store.

once he gets all of the stuff from the ground picked up and re-stacked like he's a grocery store stockboy, will he have noticed anything that doesn't look like it was meant to be on sale here while doing that? or are there any visible stains or anything else he can see with his eyes on the ground that was hidden by the assortment of stuff thrown around?]

[ okay, he is going to check under the furniture to see if he can identify these items. are they just like konbini items? or is there something that sticks out among them? he also will begin to stack these on the floor. i guess these are building blocks now. thanks.

is there anything on the underside of the tables or chairs? any stains or spills or scuffs besides general burnt?

also are there windows in the konbini that are nearby? what's the state of those just by looking? ]

[ she'll look under stuff as well -- like dig in any hidden compartments or trash cans behind the counter.

[ there are all kinds of items tossed around: a bento, pack of trash bags, hairbrush, drink cup, batteries, and lighter among them. nothing looks out of place. all of these items are crispy.

under the furniture is more konbini items. some snacks may have been spilled during whatever happened here.

the windows look fine, aside from some possible scorching on the inside. none broken.

behind the counter is a crispy medal. ]

[checking the bento - if he tries to wipe some of the soot away does it look anything like the bentos they were given during intro weekend, or is it a different general shape/color/etc? for the trash bags, is the pack opened or unopened? if he inspects the hairbrush does he see any hairs caught on it? is the drink cup empty or does it have anything on the rim other than soot and crispiness? what type of batteries are these - AA, AAA, something else entirely? does the lighter feel like it's full of lighter fluid or is it less heavy, as if it's been used?]

[ okay off the ground he goes. he's going to head to the back of the store checking the shelves and walls. is it all the same state of disarray? how do the cooling cases for food and drinks look? anything hidden in there?]

[ me looking through the profiles like which of you lost a mEDAL. anyway. ]

Uhhh. Nico, Will -- there's a medal back here. Like, gold medal, 1st place win.

[ she will scoop it up. is she temporarily unable to see the details like if there's blood or a note saying "this medal belongs to tama and she's actually dead"? ]

[ It's a medal that is crispy from being in a fire.

The shelves and walls are all in the same state of disarray. The cooling cases don't look like there's anything hidden inside of them.

The bentos are of varying size, shapes, and color. Some of them look like the intro weekend bentos, but not all of the. The trash bag is unopened. The hairbrush has no hairs on it. The drink cup is empty. These are various types of batteries, it doesn't seem specific.

The lighter feels considerably less heavy than a full one would... It was near a display of paper towels. ]

[he puts the everything but the lighter in one place together and makes a mental note to grab it to turn in as evidence tomorrow (hopefully he will remember, which is to say that hopefully i will remember to log it).

the lighter stays in his hand since he wants to take no risks about remembering it. and especially since it feels lighter than it normally would, he'll pay a little closer attention to that display of paper towels. looking at the burn marks and fire patterns and whatnot, does it seem like this might have been the origin point of the fire? if he lowers his shirt from over his nose and sniffs the air, will he smell any lingering scents that might belong to an accelerant? is there anything else he would notice with his eyes that i'm just failing to think to ask?

he also looks up at the ceiling above this area just in case.]

[ I'm gonna be honest I don't know what this konbini looks like so he will check the walls and ceiling. checking other counter space, etc? assume he is just checking the back half of this store. ]

[ i don't know anything even, tama will pocket the medal for now. is there anything else back here? anything in the cash register?

those machines they keep hot food in? anything? ]

[ There's just konbini items seemingly thrown haphazardly all over the building.

No hidden items in the hot food machine. There's nothing that shouldn't be in the cash register.

Looking at the lighter and the towels, it does seem like it could've been the origin point of the fire. There's no scent of accelerants. It smells a lot like smoke, from the fire that happened here. ]

[he coughs a little because he is now breathing in smoke, like a dumbass, and pulls his shirt back up over his mouth and nose.

snaps a picture of the display and the way it looks like it could have been the origin point. he will take the paper towels with him too in case any of them will be like half burned or relevant or something if they're looked at closer during the trial.



does this konbini have a bathroom. can he go check on that to see if there's any evidence in there]

[ out of curiosity is there any part of the konbini that's less burned than the rest? or any sign of an entry and exit point of someone coming through?]

[ -- are there security cameras here? anywhere behind the counter where she might be able to find a feed or video or something of what happened in here? ]

[ There's a bathroom.

The entire konbini was up in flames. There's no real signs of entrances or exists. However, looking at the entrance, there seems to be more items over in this direction.

There are a few security cameras on the ceiling, but no way to access them. ]

[INTO THE BATHROOM HE GOES. WHAT DO HIS EYES SEE. he is checking the mirrors, sink(s), toilet(s) (if it's the type with stalls he will check each and every one of them), trash cans, soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, hand dryers if they have them, he will look at the floor the walls and the ceiling, me just like aaaaaaaaa what else even is in bathrooms. he'll check the toilet paper dispensers too???]

[ he will take a photo of the damage and the items near the entrance for reference. ]

--Tama, what did you say about a medal? [ I say backreading because I've been mobile this whole time. ]

There's one behind the counter. Kinda.... crispy? I've picked it up for now.

[ is there a safe behind the counter?? can she open it if it does actually exist?? CAN SHE WIN THE LOTTO? ]

[ The safe is not behind the counter.

Will's eyes see a normal (crispy) bathroom. There's nothing here that seems out of place. ]

[well, that's it for now.



even with his shirt back up over his mouth and nose will is coughing a little, but he'll try to keep that muffled as he goes to collect evidence to turn in and get the hell out of dodge. do not perceive his cough.

he'll wander back to nico and tama when he feels like he's got the cough under control.]

...you two alright? Let's get some fresh air.

[ he truly has his sleeve up to his nose instead of his hood up like an idiot so. he nods. perceives the coughing and frowns. ]

I think we found everything for now. Tama has a medal and I got some pictures. [ everyone out. ]
