Early Friday morning, our heroes awaken to the moon setting, and finally, the freedom to leave the locations they fell asleep in the night before. It's a normal morning... if you ignore the sirens echoing through the city streets.

Police and prinnies have gathered in certain locations. With the sight of heroes giving them hope, they call upon you for help in searching for evidence, that we may all learn what happened on Thursday night.

So what are you waiting for? The investigation is yours.

Welcome, heroes, to your second investigation!

We will be posting top-levels for locations to be searched - one set at 6 PM EST / 3 PM PST and the second at 7 PM EST / 4 PM PST. Each block will run for two hours during which characters can search the locations for evidence related to the events of Thursday night, and each location will have something to find. Please coordinate investigation groups on Discord, as we ask that group threads consist of no more than 2-3 characters.

Once the two hours are up - at 8 PM EST / 5 PM PST for block one and 9 PM EST / 6 PM PST for block two - threads will no longer receive mod tags and the investigation will conclude for the night. Whether you find everything is up to you, but don't worry if you don't! Characters will get the chance to revisit locations tomorrow at trial. At 9 PM EST / 6PM PST, an announcement will go up, confirming the victim(s).

nothing looks disturbed in the pastry cases, so argalia may have a few if he likes. they are a day old? maybe he doesn't care if they're a little stale. free breakfast! ]

[From the sound of things, he has not let murder on the orient espresso deter him from sunning himself in the nice outside seatings lately.

Anyway, yes, please check out the phone because Hans only just learned those existed last week. He tilts his head in mild consternation at the cups (it is mild because he was not actually in here last week, so it is secondhand consternation) -- but all right, are they full? Empty? What's in them? What's the configuration here, one cup to a seat?]

[they still have that table handled, so he'll take the pastries with him and check out the reading nooks and other seating areas, seeing if there's anything left in other areas or at other tables.

[ whose phone is this? no one knows. you're all colorblind to phones specifically for today, but maybe tomorrow your vision will clear up...?

all three cups have some liquid in them, but one has more than the other two. if you want to know what it is, maybe you should have a taste? just a small one? a little sippy sip?

the reading nook is nice and tidy. no books are out of place and the other tables only have the centerpieces.

the ceiling has a nice painting of a cloudy blue sky on it, with all sorts of shapes in the clouds. isn't that cool? ]

I found someone's phone, but it'll be easier to get a closer look at it later. Seems like colors aren't looking too good on it right now.

[I am sorry to say that despite Hans' everything he is not an evidence eater.

He will try sniffing and swirling to see the smell and consistency and possible residue, though. Also temperature -- presumably they're cold by now but you never know. Does it all look like the same liquid in each cup? What's the color and general appearance? Also, what are the seating arrangements, did someone have like, two cups or is it one per seat?]

[ tch. fine. no drinkies. hans finds that the drinks are in fact cold! the liquids appear to be different types of tea, which i guess you can get from the smells? sure.

each cup is set before a different chair. the chairs are pushed in by these polite customers.

up to the next floor! everything looks fine at first glance, with nothing off about the tables or reading nooks. ]

Ah, so coffee wasn't the culprit. Somebody was just real particular about their dead leaves. ☆

Is it possible to tell what varieties of tea these are from smell? Is it just plain tea or did anyone put milk or something in them. And is there anything else interesting about the cups like I don't know, a name written in blood or sharpie. Inquiring minds need to know.

Otherwise he's going to check around the table to see if there are any odd markings or stains on the tabletop or under the table or anything off about the centerpiece at a closer glance. Also going to try pulling out all the chairs.]

how many floors does this cafe have, by the way, while axel checks ceiling number two? because since this one seems clear, if there are more then he's going to continue upward.]

[ how well does hans know his teas? one cup is very blue, another has milk tea, and another has green. if he looks closely, the tea leaves spell out MIRA -- no, no sharpie or blood anywhere.

no markings on the tabletop or under it. the centerpiece looks normal. the chairs come out easily and look very cute and comfortable because this is a nice, cozy cafe aesthetic.

the cafe has three floors. the ceiling on the second floor looks fine. this one has a painting of sunset. the third floor also looks normal. ]

On the second floor there's nothing hidden behind, underneath the couches, or the seats, right? Because he'll just check that super quick. ]

[Can't believe it really was a tea party. Why do none of you eat SNACKS with your TEA. We'll blame Mira for this blasphemy since she's in the tea leaves, the great tea offender.

Hans probably knows his teas pretty well, honestly, tea has a long history so he isn't getting modernity-smacked in the face here (probably, I don't know if some of these teas are made from aliens or what, I don't know this cafe's life). Does the blue cup seem like butterfly pea or something entirely different or adulterated tea somehow? Also how much is left of each tea from the levels given before (like which tea has more left than the other two)?

One more table check, is there a tablecloth? If so he’ll look under that as well.]

[the third floor looks normal, that one table seemed to be all down on the first floor... they can wander back down to make sure, though, if axel wants to come with.]

[Once the other two come down he’s probably done too, I assume the courtyard is included with the outside so there isn’t anything weird there either if you look out the windows?

One last thing: where is this table located in the cafe? In the back? Next to the counter? By the door? Is it near windows etc.

just to be sure we're not somehow missing something none of us are thinking of is there like. anything that seems off in here if you're looking out over the first floor coming down the stairs? does the higher vantage point help at all?? i got nothing]

[ nothing stands out in the courtyard. the table inside is near a window.

there doesn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary in the trash. maybe a used tea bag or three? ew.
