Sunday morning starts off quietly enough, almost peaceful after the events of the past few days. Today, the alarm on everyone's phone starts at 12 PM, with a reminder of the execution to take place at 1 PM at the stadium. Unlike the Saturday notifications, however, this is the only reminder you get. It appears that attendance is not mandatory this time.

Well. Not for all of you, anyway. One of you feels a compulsion to head to the stadium, heading straight inside and following the staff to ready themselves for what's to come. All others who arrive at the stadium, hero or civilian, are led to spectator seating.

As the clock strikes 1 PM, Mika walks into the arena. On the opposite end of the field, Temenos steps out to greet them. As long as they both live, neither will able to leave the area, nor will any outsiders be able to enter.

You don't have to watch, of course. That's your choice. But with the event being broadcast all over the city, it may be hard to avoid. In-person or across town, everywhere is buzzing with gossip of the newly discovered villain about to face justice. Regardless of where you go or whether you choose to watch, the only thing to do now is wait.

It's more empty then I thought it would be. You would think people would want to come and pay their respects or try to intervene or something...

Depends on what culture you're coming from.

Generally, yes, though we haven't had many executions in the past few centuries. There's something to be said about being there for the end, though.

I guess we should just hope this execution only takes one person, and not the both of them...

They're...really gonna just keep going with this sports festival thing?

...if you're going to delay the inevitable, making sure she has fun in her final moments isn't the worst thing to do.

[Even if, in a way, it's also incredibly cruel. It's all a matter of perspective.]

Would you want it to be over faster, if you were Mika, or would you appreciate what Temenos is doing?

[ what a fucking question. this draws danny up short and he falls silent with pursed lips for a while, thinking it over as he watches them run their race. ]

[That's a fair answer. Satan makes a bit of a face as he watches Temenos stumble, because this is... really happening...]

Hopefully you don't have to figure out an answer.

[Though he doubts this will be the last time they try to make a spectacle, an example, of them as new "heroes", they could at least... not be the executions of children.]

Maybe that's why they have such a problem with people wrecking shop all the time. If public executions are on the table, why not everything and anything else?

I can see that. There's no point in going for something simple when somebody's gonna escalate the charges anyway.
