Mingle
A warm welcome to new heroes!
You wake up in a bed, big enough to fit you, no matter your size. Mind your head as you remove yourself from the bed. Getting out of bed, you see dozens and dozens of identical capsule sized "rooms". It seems like it's just you and the other souls who've only recently arrived.
Your usual outfit is folded neatly in the capsule, and your item from home is set aside in your room. It seems whatever force brought you here decided to put you in a superhero themed kigu (Superman, Batman, Captain America, etc).
The lobby of the hotel is not staffed, but there is a single newspaper found in the seating area. There's not too much to explore outside of the capsule hotel at the moment. Just outside is a wall of vending machines, and everything else is taped off with caution tape and small blue penguin-like creatures telling you not to go any further. "It's dangerous, dood!" These penguins are running around with what look like building materials, ducking underneath the caution tape to start rebuilding an absolutely wrecked city.
One of the creatures stands in front of the hotel, "Welcome to Oceanside City, dood! Take these and don't lose them. Sorry the team leads couldn’t meet you yet, they’re busy..."
They hand you a bag with:════════ ⋆★⋆ ════════

- Change for the vending machines
- A boxed lunch

i hated that! thank you!
anyway it's a good ten minutes before this weirdo like
reacts at all. he blinks once, twice, and then seems to come back into focus, glancing over at this... beast...ling... sort of? ]
...Oh, hello. [ ? ] Did you need something?
i'm not there you suffer in text
aak isn't... nearly this bad. wow. this guy's really in his head, huh. he's used to active commentary when mind palaces are entered. ]
Oh, hello. [ echoes, politely. ] No, I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You were kind of zoned out over your phone, there.
no subject
anyway ] Ahaha. Something of a bad habit, I'm afraid. Once there's a problem to be solved, I've always found it quite difficult to pull myself out of it until I've found a solution - though there doesn't seem to be one.
But I thank you for your concern. I didn't mean to make you worry.
no subject
[ twitchy ears, as he thinks about it. ]
But it's okay! Someone back home - which, weird to say - gets in his head sometimes, though he mutters and laughs under his breath an awful lot more than you do. So I've seen it before.
no subject
[ like he was not doing the SAME THING thirty seconds ago without the muttering. clearly that's the weird part. ]
And, yes. I'm trying to trace precisely how I ended up in this position, but there seems to be a hole in my memory as to how. It's rather unusual for me.
no subject
[ fondly. ]
I don't remember anything about how I got here, either, so it's definitely not just you. Nobody knocking me out or anything like that - just, poof! One second I'm heading out to the store, the next I'm in pajamas and kidnapped.
